VIC, Melbourne – Derek Smyth
I am a Dad to two great boys, Ben (17) and Jack (18). For my sins, I am a Western Bulldogs fan in the AFL. I enjoy playing various sports with my kids. Born in Dublin, Ireland, grew up in Melbourne and in 1990, decided to go to Europe for what was meant to be a six month backpacking holiday. Fast forward 10 years and I returned with a wife, a son and another son on the way. Melbourne has again been my home for the past 17 years.
After working all over the world for 30 years in the IT industry and having built and sold an IT Consultancy business, I decided to change careers and started ScooterSmart – a mobility products business specialising in giving people back their freedom and independence. Working with people that you know you can help is very rewarding on a personal level and we have in excess of 2000 customers in Victoria that will attest to our outstanding products & customer service.

CA, Los Angeles – Gretchen Ryan
Gretchen Ryan has been a wheelchair user since a car accident as a teenager, when she was passenger in a Jeep that flew off a Mountain cliff, leaving her paralyzed. She was the first female, downhill, off-road wheelchair racer in the world, and for years drove a Harley-Davidson with hand controls and a sidecar. She is thrilled about the play, speed and versatility Ogo will be bringing into people’s lives, in both adventurous and practical ways. Gretchen loves and cares about people, and is honored and excited to be representing Ogo. She lives in Los Angeles, CA, where she also works as a professional artist and portrait painter.
Gretchen has her personal website at https://www.ogogirl.com/
CA, San Francisco – Walter Delson
Phone: 510 693 2689
Walter has used a wheelchair since he was paralyzed in 1992 from a motorcycle accident. Before his injury, he enjoyed being outdoors: hiking, camping, exploring. After his injury, he quickly realized that these activities are quite challenging to do using a wheelchair. Since then, he has searched for technology to increase his quality of life, and allow him to enjoy these activities once again.
Walter found the technology behind the Ogo a game changer. Suddenly, so much more of the world became easily accessible: hiking trails, beaches, even the steep streets of San Francisco are no longer a barrier! This technology has greatly increased Walter’s quality of life, and he is excited to share that experience with you! Please call him at 510-693-2689 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, or would like a test drive!
FL, Bradenton – Nancy Janus & Brian Berry
Hi! We are Nancy Janus and Brian Berry, living in Bradenton, Florida with our three daughters whom we adopted from Colombia as babies. Now they are grown and are a huge source of joy for us! Speaking of joy, we are thrilled about the Ogo and anticipate all the terrific ways it will change our and your life as well! We both have always loved travel, for Nancy going back to her days as a Peace Corps volunteer and for Brian teaching personal development skills throughout the Western world. Nancy is a college professor of Human Development, still teaching part time while Brian continues to consult on personal development. Nancy travelled frequently with groups of college students in developing countries and says that that has been the very best part of her work. It was so until 2012 when she was hit by a car from behind on a neighborhood street as she rode her bike to join her bike club for a Wednesday morning ride. The accident left her with a spinal cord injury, taking away her ability to walk or to use her hands effectively. (She is trying to convert her love of bicycling into a love of recumbent tricycling but the results have yet to be seen.) Brian has stepped right up to being a caregiver, and in many ways our love and admiration for each other has grown stronger since the accident.
Why have we become agents for the Ogo? Because it is the most exciting technology we’ve ever seen for the lively mobility of disabled or elderly people! We are especially excited about the Ogo’s off-road capability…our Florida beaches, state park trails, and probably most important to us, being able to maneuver on the unkempt roads and paths of the developing world. Do contact us if you would like to be a part of our excitement!
Nancy can be reached at 941-726-1842 and Brian at 941-704-1272. We look forward to helping you increase your options for mobility!

Unwilling to wait on or be waited on, he has always strived to regain as much function as possible. Paired with the Ogo, his dream of returning to the beach and the mountains is a reality.
He is very excited to assist anyone in the southeastern United States achieve their dreams with the revolutionary Ogo personal mobility device.

ID, Boise – Dan & Amber Jordan
Hi! I’m Dan, and this is my smart, gorgeous, and infinitely talented wife, Amber. We are Team Jordan in this new Ogo adventure!
I was paralyzed in a rock climbing accident in 1999, but it hasn’t slowed me down (in fact, Amber says I’m finally about the right speed, and she can still barely keep up!). Despite having developed an aversion to rocks, we still do everything we ever loved to do outdoors together – fishing, camping, hunting, four-wheeler riding, berry picking, and exploring wherever we can reach. We tested the Ogo during our honeymoon to New Zealand in 2016, and we are super excited about the technology. It’s really going to open some new possibilities in our lives, not just for outdoor exploring, but also for preserving the health of my shoulders and helping me live pain free for as long as possible.
Amber and I don’t just want to help you acquire and care for your Ogo, we’d love to become friends, too! We can all go Ogoing together and then have a beer at our brewery in downtown Boise. Feel free to contact either of us at any time (Amber is the brains behind this operation, anyway). Cheers to new adventures ahead!
IN, Carmel – Brian Galloway
Brian Galloway is a husband, father and dog owner. He lives in Carmel, Indiana, (northside of Indianapolis) with his wife, Erin, and their two boys, Griffin and Braden. They also have a yellow lab named Karl.
Brian has been a wheelchair user since 2012 when he had a motorcycle accident in Qatar that left him paralyzed. He spent three months at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago learning how to live again. Prior to his accident, he played golf, ice hockey and rugby and he thought he wouldn’t be able to play them anymore. Determined to play competitive sports again, he founded an adaptive sports company in 2015 and started a wheelchair lacrosse team.
His passion for sports has driven him in many ways. He has spent the past several years looking for a way to not just bring mobility to people but to actually change their lives. Brian looks forward to the freedom that Ogo will bring to people’s lives and is excited about being an agent.
You can reach Brian via email or through Facebook @ogomidwest
NC, Kannapolis – Kim Bumgardner
Hi! My name is Kim Bumgardner. I am the wife to Phil Bumgardner and we’ve been married for 36 years. We have 2 children, Adam and Julianna, a son-in-law, Chase and the most amazing grandchildren, Charlotte and Silas! In 1989, I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis which left me paralyzed at the T4 level. Having to use a wheel chair for the past 29 years, I’ve become well versed in accessibility products. That is why I am so excited to become an Ogo agent.
In August of 2017, I had the privilege to meet the Ogo team and “test drive” the Ogo. I knew then it was a game changer for those who use a wheelchair. For me, it would open adventures I had not been able to do since being in a chair. Life is too short to sit still! I look forward to assisting you in “grabbing life by the wheels” by purchasing your Ogo.
Much love and endless trails!
NE, Omaha – Mike Schirk
I’m Mike Schirk, an Agent of the Ogo Technology team. I spent my youth in the wilds of Upper Michigan, my adult life and working career in Chicago, Illinois, and now my grandparent years and 2nd career living in Omaha Nebraska. I have wonderful adult children, daughters/sons-in-law, and two terrific grandchildren.
Having a passion for music, arts, sports and living life to the fullest, I had a change in my lifestyle and activities a few years ago. With a combination of spinal stenosis and peripheral polyneuropathy, I had to leave my position in technology sales at a much younger age than expected or wanted. Walking becomes quite painful within short distances, and wheelchair usage becomes problematic. Roaming the internet, I found the Ogo Personal Mobility Device, and watched anxiously for the near monthly progress videos of the advances of the PMD. I am elated to get delivery of my unit and start demonstrating how there can be a new mobility chapter in life for those who are disabled and have been trapped by their physical challenges.
Working with affected survivors in the Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska and discussing the trials of being disabled with the medical community, I so look forward to sharing what this life changing PMD engineering will do for others. Grab Life by the Wheels!
NJ, Burlington – Philip Nolan
Philip was born in Greenfield Massachusetts but grew up in New Jersey and spent the majority of his time between there and the surrounding tristate area until 2010 when he joined the US Navy. Before his time in the military, Philip attended Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA where he specialized in management. Additionally, Philip attended several engineering and financial management classes with the Navy in various locations throughout the country. Most of his time in the Navy was spent repairing aircrafts with electronic failures but quickly rose to a supervisor position after only one deployment. Subsequent to serving in the Navy, Philip spent time rehabilitating after a mountain bike accident in 2014, leaving him in a wheelchair. Looking for new opportunities outside the military life, Philip connected with Ogo technologies as a sales agent and is looking forward to delivering the freedom the Ogo provides, which he knows how important that can be on a personal level. In his free time Philip enjoys the outdoors, live and local music, training his service dog and spending time with friends and family. Prior to his accident, Philip was an avid volunteer for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and D.E.F.Y. and is now looking forward to once again lending a helping hand and promoting a positive lifestyle.
NY, Macedon – Steve Poutre
Steve was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right leg at age 15 (1979). After 15 months of chemotherapy, he was declared cancer free. Two years later he was diagnosed with leukemia.
If all that wasn’t enough, in 1998, he was on a second story deck when it collapsed. He ended up breaking his left leg in seven places. The doctors told his wife that he would probably never walk again. Eighteen months later, he was able to return to his job as a wedding photographer. It was obvious at this time he would not be able to do this job long term due to the amount of discomfort while walking. He retired from wedding photography in 2003.
Steve has never been one of those people who asks, “why me?” but rather, “where do I go from here?”
He believes the totally hands free operation of the OGO will change lives of thousands. Steve recognizes that simple tasks most people take for granted, will now be possible with the Ogo. He says, “just think of carrying a glass of milk and a piece of pie, at the same time, from the kitchen to the dinning room table…. without help!”
He is excited and looks forward to educating; demonstrating and exploring all the ways Ogo will enhance people’s lives.
Contact Steve if you would like more information or have questions.
SC, Charleston – Marcus & Karen Rosenlehner
email@example.comWe, Marcus and Karen Rosenlehner are passionate about promoting the Ogo. We have the opportunity to provide an amazing solution for mobility limitations to the disabled. This Personal Transportation System (PTS) is life-changing, technologically innovative, and sleek in design.
Marcus, a marathon runner and avid squash player suffered an almost life-ending stroke. He subsequently was “locked-in,” meaning he was totally paralyzed and unable to talk and could communicate only by blinking his eyes. Miraculously, he overcame his ordeal and through hard work now walks with a cane or walker. The Ogo gives Marcus his long-awaited independence again, and provides him with mobility which makes him almost forget his disability. Marcus is an attorney (Germany) with a Master’s Degree in International Business Law and worked for the Washington, D.C. firms of Patton Boggs, LLP and Kirkland & Ellis, LLP in antitrust law. He also focused on cases involving International Child Abduction and appeared in U.S. and German print media as well as 60 Minutes with Christiane Amanpour.
Marcus sees the Ogo as a life-changing Personal Transportation System (PTS) which will not only help fellow disabled persons, but can also be used for disabled sports (such as basketball, tennis, etc.), sight-seeing tours, PTS for the elderly, and much, much more. Its uses are unlimited and he thinks this innovation will touch a lot of people’s lives.
Karen, Marcus’ wife, is a Registered Nurse (RN) and was instrumental in his recovery. She has vast experience with a career focus on cardiac nursing. She became Marcus’s caregiver. Karen knows from experience how difficult it was for Marcus to get around and was forced to function as his “Personal Transportation System.” Ogo frees her from this task and has made an incredibly positive impact on both their lives.
OR, Salem – Ian van Wesenbeek
OR, Lake Oswego – Michael Neher
Hello I’m Michael Neher, a NW born and raised outdoor enthusiast!! I was lucky enough to break my neck twice…. once playing football and then a year later I had a car accident that left me in a wheelchair. 35 years later I see this Ogo Technology and I’m super excited to help bring this to market. I’ve been involved in the van Mobilty business many many years and this new Ogo product has me super excited!
I grew up on a farm so I love new innovations. Its going to be fun showing people the Ogo and watching the smiles and freedom of movement the Ogo gives people of all ages, with disabilities and without.
TX, Dallas – Kyle + Kristen Kromer
Hello and thank you for taking time to learn more about the Ogo. We are Kyle and Kristen Kromer and we live in North Texas near Dallas/Fort Worth. We are the proud parents of two children, a daughter and a son. Preston, our youngest, is currently a junior in high school. Preston was born with Arthrogryposis or AMC. He has been using wheelchairs (primarily power chairs) since he was three years old. Since day one, Preston has never allowed his disabilities to stop him from trying anything. He has waterskied, loves to snow ski and currently plays percussion in the high school marching band, symphonic band and jazz band. He just slides the drumsticks in his watchband and rubber bands on his wrists and pushes the drum and DTX electronic pad onto the marching field. He also rides horses and shows horses in the arena leading them in his wheelchair. Needless to say he is a very active guy. We believe the Ogo will open up even more possibilities to him and to so many others with mobility issues. We are excited for the opportunity to help you try the Ogo and discover the freedom of mobility that it offers. Please let us know if we can help you.

WA, Bellevue – Robert Rigg
CO, Denver – Derrick Madrid
SK, Regina – Craig & Judy Lenz
Judy and I are thrilled that Kevin and his team at Ogo Technology thought “they could!”, and have brought the Ogo to production! Congratulations!
Being a wheelchair user for over thirty years due to a crop dusting accident, as well as a Segway based PMD builder myself, I know firsthand how challenging an achievement like this is. To have the opportunity now to share this empowering machine with others as an Agent for Ogo…. well what can I say…. these are exciting times!
Since my accident in 1986, I have been blessed with many unique opportunities. I was fortunate to be raised on a farm in Saskatchewan where building in the shop was just part of being a farm boy. I have built hand controls to operate vehicles and equipment, built various lifts to get me to places I wanted to go. I also built a Segway based PMD seven years ago and have since cruised the beaches of the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. We’ve explored the Redwoods of California, the Desserts of Arizona, followed along on Golf Courses, toured State Parks and many other destinations that otherwise would have been very difficult (no impossible) by standard wheelchair.
My wife and partner, Judy, is a retired school teacher and loves the outdoors. Together we hope to introduce many people to the Ogo lifestyle both here in Canada and during our motorhome travels through the USA. (Winters in Saskatchewan are just too cold!)
Please email us or find us on Facebook and say hello. We look forward to being of service and sharing our experiences as members of the Ogo Technology Agent Network.
Northern Ireland, Whitehorse – Richard Lappin
England, London – Cristian Brownlee
I’m Cristian and I am super excited to be an official agent for Ogo Technology here in the United Kingdom. As a wheelchair user myself I have vast experience with seated Segways and I can’t wait to start the Ogo journey with you and witness how much it will improve your life the same way that it has improved mine!
Netherlands – Gerhard Breugem
2Kerr is specialized in seated Segway solutions and I am really exited to start working with Ogo Technology in Europe. Having many years of experience with a variety of Segway solutions and having launched the first fully integrated seated Segway solution (Genny Mobility) in The Netherlands 4 years ago, I am very familiar with the great technology and fantastic applications of these solutions. But much more important than the technology is the life changing functionality it brings to every day life of many (disabled) people. It is exactly that positive energy that motivates me every day to put in the extra mile for satisfied customers. With 2Kerr I established a company fully dedicated to great mobility solutions for disabled people, with a strong focus on self-balance technology. A truly unique concept that provides a full range of quality products for our customers and I can’t wait to have Ogo in our collection. The Ogo has a totally unique approach which I am sure is very easy to use and also lot’s of fun. I strongly belief great products will stand out and sell itself and I am sure Ogo is such a great product. Don’t hesitate to contact us and come and try it for yourself (no strings attached).
Sweden – Hans Kleine
My name is Hans Kleine. I am a Dutchman from The Hague, but now living in Karlstad, Sweden. My background is that I am a psychiatrist and have been working in the public healthcare for many years, with focus on other general psychiatry, substance use and dependence. During the last few years I have mostly been working in my own company, with different supervision and educational tasks in the healthcare system. I am a Motivational Interviewer trainer and have had workshops on suicide prevention and psychiatric law issues. I also have an antiquarian bookshop since 2006.
I have own experience of neurologic illness, but am fortunate that for now I do not have any problems in my day to day life. Because of my concern for the future I have had an interest in new ways of transporting and have been following Ogo Technology through their newsletter. After their production announcement this spring, I replied and was appointed an Ogo agent.
I live in Karlstad, in the centre of Scandinavian… and will be eager to help anyone with questions concerning The Ogo: ordering, importing, user instructions and guidance.
